Due to last years inaugural success it's gonna be bigger this year with some very big gypsy jazz headliners- John Jorgenson Quintet and Stephane Wrembel and his band! Once again we are honored to play and represent Las Vegas in the festival!!

- May 11, 2013 – Mike Turnbull Benefit
2:00 pm, Mike Turnbull, trombonist with Donny and Marie Osmond, was diagnosed with stage IV thyroid and trachea cancer. Mike has undergone a radical procedure and has been unable to return to work. Please come out and support this benefit to help a most wonderful man and his family recover from a most trying time. The line up of entertainment is beyond spectacular, including Jerry Lopez, members of the cast of Jersey Boys, musicians from many of the Las Vegas shows, Hot Club, Patty Janura, and the world famous RICH LITTLE, just to name a few. Following the entertainment, there will be a catered event by the talented chef Rodney Ignacio, who has been integral in the opening of Tao at the Venetian and Comme Ca at the Cosmopolitan. There will be an open bar serving wine and sangria and much more all for a minimum donation of only $30!! 10:00 am, (Benefit ride begins at 8:00 am. Music begins at around 9:30-10 am) Joel Gilmore is anything but a wimp. In true warrior form, this young dad and husband was was an avid cyclist and in hard training for a Tough Mudder obstacle race just last summer. Today he battles a different front. Fatigue, tremors, fevers, joint inflammation, pain, and chronic infections may strike his body at any time. Why? No one really knows. After a year of failed treatments and worsening symptoms, Joel went to Mayo Clinic in Arizona for a week of diagnostic testing in August. To date, results remain inconclusive. But there are some indisputable facts. Joel’s quality of life and ability to spend time with his wife and children is tremendously diminished. He is unable to work, greatly reducing their family income. None of the work at Mayo is covered by their insurance. Medical bills continue to flood into the Gilmore home. Financial output is greater than what’s coming in. You can make a difference with your donation. Thank you supporting the Gilmore Family.

2:00 pm, We are excited to play a few Django songs for a book launch party and lecture by author Oksana Marafioti! Growing up Gypsy and Becoming American: An Afternoon with Music, Dance, Artwork and Words (from the author's blog....) I'm really looking forward to the book launch for American Gypsy: A Memoir. It's my first (and hopefully not last), and I'm getting that nervous tingly feeling one gets right before jumping into the ocean for the first time. Initially I was going to play it safe and make it your standard author's event: a short intro, some readings and a q&a. But then I kept meeting these incredible Las Vegas performers who fit right into the book's theme, and I couldn't resist adding them to the program. So now, it's not so much a book launch as it is a book/music/art/food show. Can't wait to see it…

All with an orchestra!!! Noybel is finishing up her tour with Benise, so we are happy to announce that Phantom's Kristen Hertzenberg will be stepping in and helping out! We've been working on this since December 2011 and this is a must see for us in 2012!

There will also be a DJ spinning vintage jazz between all the action! This time the party will be at the Downtown Cocktail Room. Listed as one of the top 100 bars in country in Food & Wine magazine this classy speakeasy was also voted the top cocktail bar by Las Vegas locals. Located in the heart of downtown Vegas all parking will be validated if you park in the Fremont Street Experience, which is literally next to the venues.
